The Team

SHARON BANKS, PRESIDENT & CEO
Sharon Banks formed Bankable Marketing Strategies in 1998 after serving in marketing and sales management positions with Fortune 500 companies including Digital Equipment Corporation, IBM, and Ford Motor Company. She has held management positions in the public sector including the County of Wayne with its county-seat in Detroit, Michigan. Sharon has held positions in the education and non-profit sector including Founding Executive Director for Wayne County Community College District’s Education First Foundation and Director for Walled Lake-Oakland County Public School’s Foundation for Excellence.  Serving as director of communications and press secretary for the county of Wayne from 2003 to 2009, Sharon led a team that developed and implemented marketing programs and campaign strategies for the thirteenth largest county in the country with more than two million residents.  

ERICA BANKS, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Erica’s background includes agency experience in marketing and event management for companies such as Ford Motor Company; where she managed, and supported the Ford Motor Company Fund in three major areas: innovation and education, community development and American legacy, and auto-related safety education.  She served on several projects for the Ford Racing Team and was the lead agency liaison on programs including the Grand Prix of Toronto, National Black MBA Convention, The Ford Motor Company Centennial Celebrations, The Ford Motor Company GLOBE (Gay, Lesbian or Bi-Asexual Employees) Annual Big Bash Gala and the Congressional Black Caucus Convention. Erica has experience in education, from the middle school to community College level, as well as in the government and health care sectors. Erica has developed collateral materials, executed community outreach initiatives and designed and monitored marketing efforts and key messaging for a variety of clients. She has worked on numerous projects in the areas such as Student Affairs, International Studies, Marketing and Public Relations. Erica has more than ten years of Marketing, Event Management, Community Outreach and Public Relations experience.

ELIOT BANKS, CREATIVE DIRECTOR, CSEP
Eliot has more than eight years direct experience in event planning, event management and creative consultation, as well as 12 years direct hospitality management experience. He has planned board retreats for Business Leaders for Michigan, and was a part of the team that planned the 2010 University of Michigan, NCAA men’s basketball Championship Banquet.

Eliot has a sound background in event design, staffing, and logistics planning. He has worked with a diverse clientele and has provided a diverse range of services and products resulting in successful events and campaigns

He has managed marketing and fundraising campaigns for Chipotle Mexican Grill, including a successful social media campaign.  His knowledge, expertise, recommendations for and understanding of social media marketing and digital marketing that assist clients in reaching target and main stream audiences and stakeholders while also increasing their digital presence and engagement rates.  His experience in the areas of digital marketing, lend support to:

PATRICE GREEN, SENIOR CONSULTANT/EVENT PLANNER
Drawing on a twenty-year career in the corporate arena, Patrice has emerged as one of Detroit’s leading marketing, public relations and event planning specialists. Patrice was a member of the team that coordinated the opening activities of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit in April 1997. As the director of sales and marketing of the Book Cadillac Hotel, she worked with the GOP National Committee during the national convention that led to Ronald Reagan’s nomination for president. She also worked with the National Football League to coordinate special events during Super Bowl XVI. Patrice has developed and implemented strategies and tactics that resulted in increasing name recognition for clients, she coordinated the public relations and event planning for the grand opening of Barden International in Windhoek, Namibia, Southwest Africa, a General Motors manufacturing facility.

GALEN PAULING, ART DIRECTOR
Galen T. Pauling has more than twenty years of product development, brand building, advertising and product marketing experience. In those years, he won national awards such as American Corporate Identity’s “Design Excellent Award” for logo design. Galen has assisted in extending the brand identity for several educational organizations including McCormick Theological Seminary, Concordia University, Starr Detroit Academy and Plymouth Educational Center. Global brands such as Mercedes-Benz, McDonald’s, Hewlett-Packard and the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team have had marketing tools developed and enhanced by Galen. For ten years Galen worked in the development of a children’s brand named “Q.T.Pie.” He was responsible for the entire licensing program for the Q.T. Pie Brand under his management company, the SanPaul Group, LLC. He consulted with licensees in developing successful strategies in branding the company’s consumer products. Galen provided graphic design services for all promotional and published materials. He also successfully negotiated licensing agreements with Scholastic Inc., Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target Stores for national distribution of his Pie Children’s Brand.

TED ADAMS, WEB DEVELOPER
Ted offers clients fresh perspectives on corporate image, utilizing communication, business services and artistic skills. From print media design, such as brochures, print ads, and program books to web design/development, Ted is a resource whose creative development clients include Fortune 500 corporations General Motors, Chrysler LLC and Massage Envy and mid-size companies such as ChannelNet, Vision IT.  Education and non-profit clients include Starr Detroit Academy, Second Ebenezer Church, Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC), Braylon Edwards Foundation and the Michigan Technical Academy.

Ted has managed and developed creative solutions for VisionIT and Commerce One where he presented creative web-based solutions to Pfizer’s scientific and business divisions.  Ted’s expertise includes:

  • Web site design and application development for company clientele
  • Multimedia development (Flash intros, CD ROMs)
  • Site development and support using HTML5, CSS5, JQuery, PHP, Mysql, Wordpress
  • Creative suite:  Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver. Acrobat, Flash and more

Ted has received numerous awards, including "Colleague Recognition Award" (Pfizer) and "Excellence in Consulting" award (Commerce One).  He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Michigan with a triple concentration of graphic design, Illustration and Industrial Design.
